The listing, "Kitten("PRICE DROP!!!!) painting by Lucy Baker has ended.
This is a painting of a kitten ,by me, Lucy Baker. done in acrylic on colored matte board. it's 6"x 10" (a bit larger than my "mini's" where you can see here on Listia. ) I painted this one in 2012 . This is painted in a more Impressionist , or Fauve style, like Matisse , but is done in "Grisaille" (white on a greytone though the backround is a lovely brownish grey or what I'd call "mole" color, that is the color of a mole.(lol!!) . I've done many paintings in "Grisaille" over the yrs. It was more popular in the 1800's to 1900's and one of the most notable artists that worked in Grisaille was Degas (Mostly with pastels or white pen or pencil). For an artist it's a great way to do "studies" to focus on the form and shapes and line, without concerns of color. My "Kitten " is a bit calligraphic with the simplicity of Asian calligraphy , but transmits the fuzzy texture of the kittens fur and tail. Put my name "Lucy Baker, artist" in any search and my pics will come up. I've exhibited worldwide, my paintings are in many museum , private and corporate collections around the world. Ty for looking!
