The listing, *~*~*~6 Fresh Japanese Maple Tree Seeds~*~*~*(3 DAYS ONLY!!)~*~*~* has ended.

Six (6) FRESH Japanese Maple Tree Seeds! Japanese Maple Trees are a GORGEOUS small ornamental tree that changes colors throughout the seasons to all different shades of brilliant reds, oranges, yellows and greens and sometimes all colors at the same time! Right now, they are the red color in the 1st and 2nd picture. They are also popular with bonsai tree growers (see last pic, if i can get it up). now i don't know how they do the bonsai trees but if you are interested in trying it, there's information online about Japanese Maples and bonsai growers. Generally these trees grow like the one in the first 3 pictures - approx 15-20 feet up by 15-20 feet out.

*~*~FYI~*~* All my seeds come from fresh living flowers, trees and shrubs, etc. I don't go out and buy my seeds. I work hard at getting my seeds from hikes in the woods, parks, neighborhood, my garden, etc to get fresh seeds and then sun dry them in baskets so they stay fresh when shipped.

Is this something I would start in the house and move outside when it is mature?

either way. myself, i started them indoors because i just know they'd get mowed down this summer if they were in the ground, lol! but the pots are outside. the leaves change colors with the seasons so cold isnt an issue. right now they are a gorgeous deep burgundy color.

I really dont want to sound stupid but where do the seeds come from?? Ive always loved these trees and the fact that the leaves are always changing colors but how do you get the seeds?

the seeds are like the "winged flyers" you see on maple trees but they are red and green in color instead of just green. and they are smaller too.

they are hanging on the end of branches until ready to drop, then i harvest them and sun dry them so they'll be ready to send.

and the only stupid question is the one not asked! lol! i've been learning as i go too. its actually been a lot of fun finding the trees and seeds that i'd like to have in my yard and neighborhood. so i've been harvesting extra for listia. my yard has been bare for years and i just now got the ok to plant to my hearts content in my yard and all through the neighborhood i live in. they are actually encouraging us to grow gardens and plant trees and shrubs. plus they just cout down a huge area out behind my house and it looks awful, so im replanting trees, shrubs and flowers thats nicer than the scrub that was there before. will be doing a lot of pine trees soon so that will be one of the next things i list here for auction. :-)
