Most of the heaviness is probably from the base which were popular in the 80's. Definatly copper! Nice piece!

Very nice! What's crazy about this piece is I was just at a place here in Alaska, where this guy sales items he's come across from buying storage units, and he had one of these! Exactly like this but made of steel and had a matching equation king head of the same size. They were beautiful I had never seen anything like it! Very heavy as well but painted black. He didn't know anything about them either though. I'm very interested...
