It is ceramic and written on the bottom of the mug (as shown in pic) it holds 14oz and is microwave/dishwasher safe.

thought it was navy blue? or is it black? i was getting this for my mother in law's bday that is upcoming soon and she lives navy color .... is the lid stay on strong enough for a car riding? lol

It is black. The lid has a nice suction to it. I definitely see it working for a car ride. However, it is NOT like a child's non spill cup either. Hope that helps!
