Pretty much! There is a cord you can buy that let's you put new cheats on the cartridge, but I have preloaded it with TONS of cheats already!

Does this work for all ds systems or just the the original ds

It is compatible with the Nindendo DS and the Nintendo DS lite. It does not work with DSi or 3DS systems. Just know: If the DS has a camera it won't work with action replay! Hope I helped answer your question!

You put the Action Replay Cartridge in the DS then turn it on. Once the DS is on the action replay menu you can remove the Action Replay cartridge and put in the game you want to play. It will then play the game with cheats!
