It's 9 inches in length and it's a half of a cylinder. The smaller part of the log is 4 inches and the other side of the half cylinder is 5 inches. I hope this helps out some as I'm not very good with measurements when it comes to diameters. It's a great size for fish. They like to swim through it and even sleep in there.

I'm not quite sure if it's a heavy plastic or a bit of ceramic. It worked out great in our tank. We just decided to change the tank up a bit. It's guaranteed not to float or do any damage to the fish. Is heavy enough to stay at the bottom of the tank or propped on rock.

Sure, why not? I'm not sure of their habits and the way they live but it would give them something to walk on or hide in. I wish I could offer more information and I don't want to mislead you in ant way. Give a bid and see what happens. lol
