I'm not sure what you mean "a baby carrier". It's a harness and you can attach a leash at the top of it. It gives you great control walking a dog and is also good for smaller dogs with fragile trachea's or little necks, especially if they pull a lot. This fits around the rib cage so there is no tugging or pulling on the neck. :) (hope that answers your question) Good luck on your bid! :D
