This unit is a stand for iPhone 4 or 4s models. You plug the cord into the base of this and then you would place ur iPhone in the stand. It can be a little temper mental sometimes and I notice when you push the iPhone forward when in the stand it will always charge. The unit is sold as is. No refunds. You gotta play around with the unit and see what works best for you. It doesn't always cooperate right away.
