Something does not make sense about this bar I am very familiar with all forms of precious metals. Normally what is called German metal is 80% silver

Sorry about that what I meant was when you we usually read German silver in America it is 80% silver and 20% clad. This bar says point 999 which means it is fine silver which would mean it isn't necessarily German silver it might be a German company formed bar but if it says point 999 it is pure silver and not an alloy of 20 like most German silver is. I hope this helps you out
