The Original Rescue 8 Design, Forged Aluminum with durable hard-coat anodized finish. Rescue 8 has "ears" to aid in locking off.The CMI Rescue 8 is big enough to handle not just one, but TWO fo the largest ropes around. Its extended horns on the upper ring prevent rope from sliding up and locking when tying off. The dual holes on the tie-in end allow the eight to remain attached to the harness while threading the rope, preventing loss of the device in extreme conditions. It is the industry standard for rescue grade descender.
