No does not come with DC adapter but does have place to plug it in if you have one says 12v DC. It also has a small switch in the battery area to switch between using alkaline and nickel cadmium batteries.

I noticed if you have a scanner like this one or a desktop scanner that has a marine function on it and you don't live anywhere near the ocean you can pick up the CSX train. I got a desktop scanner for Christmas last year pressed
The Marine band button during Christmas nothing happened waited until summer and then the Marine band started lighting up with the CSX train station. I live very close to destiny USA mall a.k.a. carousel mall which is directly across the street from train station here in Syracuse New York. I can here the trains like crazy on my old Scanner.
