Could you measure across from armpit to armpit? Does the fabric stretch?

Armpit to armpit is 24" so it would be 48" around. As far as the material stretching, it gives very little so I would say "no it doesn't stretch".

How long? Knee length etc. It looks really short.

From the shoulder to the waist is 16" and from the waist to the hem is 22". So its 38" long total. I measured it that way so you could get an idea how its made. Hope it helps.
