Mark was a two time all star (2003 & 2004) and was the American League wins champion in 2001, then led the American League in complete games and shutouts in 2003 and 2004, He was a member of the 2006 St. Louis Cardinals World Series Champions

In 2014 Mark made a comeback attempt with the Los Angeles Angels and ended up tearing his achilles tendon on the second day of spring training and was subsequently released by the Angels on March 11.
