It has a copperish patina. I did not clean it because that can change the value. (see photos) I don't know what it's made of, the 1939 dimes were silver. I do not know anything else about it, not even how it ended up in the bottom of my jewelry box years ago!! I think it's an interesting piece, hope you will too.

Please Note: This is a relist. I did NOT notice that it does not say "In God We Trust", and I am supposed to be a coin collector!! So I now think it must be a replica. That being said it is a VERY pretty piece, I think the Mercury Dime is a true work of art, so it still nice to wear and display.
