Questions & Comments
Oh! I know all of these places! My brother was almost killed by an IRA car/Tube bomb. He was holding onto the St. Marks Lion statue...there were 2 statues outside the Tube entrance. I remember pushing him over there with a few other little boys. I was a chaperone on his primary school's field trip to London. St. Marks was his primary (K-6) school. It was a miracle he wasn't hurt. So many others were. My father went to the Isle of Wight's sailing school for a guys only R&R one summer. We went to Cornwall the summer he was there. These are bringing back memories! I'd love to get these for my brother. :) Thank you for offering these, Aki. You made me smile. Again! LOL FW&B
Thanks for your comments, I am glad that someone wants these. That's an amazing story about your brother. I lived in the UK for 8 years, and I tend to buy post cards wherever I am...
You're welcome! I buy postcards even art truck stops! My granddaughter (8), calls them"trivial things" and "trinkets"! If it's not too personal, where did you live? It looks as if you've been to Turkey, as well...I'd love to visit there, but I don't think it's a good idea! I was just telling my brother about this, and put a link on Facebook! He still runs into people he knew as a schoolboy...he's air traffic control and teacher in the USAF (career), but I only see people from Aviano, and adult friends that I knew from various bases. :( lol It's been great chatting with you! I'll be watching this auction as well!
i lived in london and travelled to turkey for work. it's a wonderful place to visit, but perhaps now isn't the best time. you should get the other postcards soon. i am very glad to share them with someone who can appreciate them.
That's so interesting! You're right, it's not the best time to visit. I hope that changes soon. I was there from 1970-1979. It's a small world, isn't it? :) Again, thanks for offering these!
