It somewhat depends on genetics, but a rule of thumb is about three years. I waited fourteen years for one to bloom, and I have had many to bloom in two years. Most bloom in three. In your area, you could grow them outside year round and push them hard with water and fertilizer, most of the year, because you have that much light, and daylight hours. Therefore, they would mature faster. There are three or four species which take a long time from seed, and if their influence is dominant in the make up of a cross, then it might be up to seven years to bloom. That's more rare than not though. The seeds usually germinate in very wet conditions in about three weeks.
