Two 1940s Vintage 9" Hand made Folk Art Dolls. They are made in the likeness of the Mayan people of Cuzco in Peru.
The Mayan or Maya people are a diverse range of Native Americans in Southern Mexico, and Northern Central America, and Cuzco is a City in Southeastern Peru.
Now about the dolls; They are completely hand made and in great condition being from the 40s. All original with painted pottery, their heads are made on tread wrapped wire, and their armature bodies are on a flat piece od wood so that they can stand unaided.
The man has a long horn similar to Alpen horn of the Alps.
The Lady has a spindle spinning wonderful with soft Alpaca wool yard. These doll has never been played with and are from the original adult collector, who was a none smoker.
But the lady has 2 paint rubs on her nose and cheek, and the man also has a spot on his right cheek, and in shipping the man's hat came off, that can be clued back.
