It's a Vintage Hubley Halco Toy Derringer cap gun! Even though I'm a girl, I had one as a kid! The orange plastic tip is missing! This is in no way a real weapon, ridiculous!
It's a nice one! Good luck!

Cool. I'm a girl too, I became fascinated by it years ago and made it my own. However, I hardly take it out of its box to play with it.. I mean display it haha. So I decided to give someone a chance to give this cutie more life.

If this is the real thing it isn't meant for shooting besides that the ammo it needs to fire is no longer made black powder isn't made no more you can't get it. Besides that if this antique is real it is for collecting not shooting. I'm a gun lover and I for one would treasure this item its not every day you come across something this rare. Same thing with colts and flint lock muskets their sole purpose is to be admired these days rather than used. If you really think about it shooting a fire arm this or that old would be foolish because the possibility if the weapon blowing up in your hand is very likely. The reason why is because with age of old weaponry is the sheer fact that with time steel cracks and if there are any cracks inside the barrel the bullet won't fire properly causing a back fire and a blow up. Weapons in this day jam preventing the weapon from instant blowing as to the weapons in the olden days didn't have the technology to prevent mishaps like that. All in all if real or toy this is a collectors piece. Any person who is into old school weapons would be interested in this auction.

To be honest I won't lie u had a black powder double barrel pistil similar to this one. I found it in the basement if a house I was fixing the owner gave to me as a gift. I took it to a friend who was into civil war world 1 and 2 items he bought that weapon from me for 200 dollars took it and sold it to another person for 500 dollars and this was back in 1987 2014 I can see it going for 1100 1200 depending on rust ware and tare and the condition of the grips I wasn't going to say much but it seems that people aren't seeing the value of the item. Its not a bad thing at all mist people just don't see the history in craftsmanship and that is solely what I'm looking at.

Cool. Still, I believe this is a toy gun, legit looking but nonetheless a toy. If it ever got any action it was with caps. I have kept it in little box for years. I need someone to appreciate it more, display it & such. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure this is a toy seeing as how I had one exactly like this in the 70s.

It could be, but I have a few vintage Hubley's and the white/cream grips don't have the H. They have Hubley Made in USA patent pending stamped below the barrel. This is one great Looking Cap Gun! I have had my share & I could be wrong, But Just in my Opinion
It is a Very Old Vintage Die Cast Cap Gun, Not a real one,

It is not a real gun, it is a cap gun or it looks like one I had when I was growing up. It was styled after the real thing. you loaded single caps from above and cocked the hammer which would lock the trigger out. Then pull trigger back to release the hammer and the cap would go off. This was the days when caps came on a sheet or a roll. The sheet were perforated to separate the caps. Loved it as a kid and thank you for a trip down memory lane. BANG! BANG

vbmg152 is 10000% RIGHT! IT IS A VINTAGE TOY CAP GUN. Hubley Halco derringer. The ONLY Reason she does not see the Orange Plastic Cap is that when you sell on on eBay or other sites, It Is A Rule, you have to picture & send it w/ the Orange Cap on the end. They make them cheap or I used a Glue Stick Cap( Free!) when I sold a couple of Vintage Cap Guns. I think it's amazing, But I am a Girl that grew up loving cap guns, too. If anyone really wants one & misses this, there are a half dozen on eBay. Depending on Condition you can get one from $4.99-$16 or sometimes $30 in mint shape. Honestly I was a little upset to see them sell so low. I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder! this one is so cool! IDK why the Guy Keeps insisting it is real. Well it IS A REAL VINTAGE TOY CAP GUN!!!

The toys were much smaller and didn't have much engraving. People you do know black powder pistols can shoot caps. After the caps paper strips is 99% suffer

The ones on ebay are nothing like this. that is real steel and look at the engravings i bet if the seller of this weapon/toy took it and got looked at by an expert gunsmith then the seller would know this high class item is no toy

The reason why I'm asking is because that is really close looking to a black powder 22 cal you have there. If the barrel slides or opens downward that is no toy that is the real McCoy of pioneer fire arms. Card sharks and out laws used them because they were small enough to fit in a pocket. The down fall to harm someone with that you had to be at point blank range to do any damage.
