14K gold marked along with the word Italy on the clasp. Gorgeous 3 dimensional filigree butterfly slides gracefully along the twisted serpentine gold chain. Super delicate and detailed from the double wings to the curved body and antennae. The chain is15 inches long. If that is too short there is plenty of room for a longer or thicker chain, although the butterfly is so delicate that you would still want something very thin. This was in my mother's collection of jewelry. There are words on the back of the butterfly but I can't figure out what they are. Both the butterfly and the chain are cut so that light reflects off of many angles at once. The butterfly measures 1 inch by 3/4 inch and there are two loops on the back that the chain slides through.
