7 1/2 inch with an inch long extender. It is NOT sterling silver... Stainless steel I think. I just cleaned the chain and it looks OK....the black paint on the lipstick is rubbing off from normal wear. Other wise it looks great. I no longer sell Avon so I hardly wear it anymore.
