Not a stupid question at all. Yes, a chick grows into a hen. A chick is just a small hen. After growing a chick will become bigger making smaller chicks. I'm not sure how cold it gets in MN, on the east coast last winter we got a lot of snow. I kept some outside in the winter and some inside. The ones on the outside grew bigger than the ones on the inside. They do comeback, This plant will live indefinitely. If you'd like to skip the seeds I do have chicks up for auction as well.
I actually had some up last week that were already bid on. I have a few very small ones but I'm waiting for the to grow. My hen is producing them now, I'm just waiting to pull them off. I'll be listing them soon.
