Its not locked I dont believe. Like I said I was only aware of it being used with Boost Mobile Service but someone mentioned here in the comments that her brother has the same cell with Verizon :-) I purchased it from Boost but its a ZTE Sequent so I am assuming its not strictly stuck to Boost. You maybe be able to Google your answer? I'm sorry I can't fully answer your question :-)

When I used it my 8 yr old was very savvy with it...so I would say yes its good for kids :-) its a touch screen and there are no scratches or cracks in it :-) its in excellent condition. For I only auction off only brand new out close to new products :-)
