I didn't read this when it first came out. Thought that since it was a series, I 'd get the important info from the book I first read--#5 or 6, I think. This is not a first edition, but not one seen often. I was amazed at how it all began and how the characters have evolved. Ranger wasn't anything like he is today! Rex, the hamster, is the only one who hasn't changed much! This is one of the best

Rats--hit post accidentally. LOVED this book! As a stand alone, it is excellent, but also answers so many things I've wondered about! Must downsize or wouldn't let it go!
