Description

The listing, 1971 Eagle Print Silver Dollar has ended.

I've had this guy since I was 6 or 7 Yrs. Old. My dad was big into collecting coins and Just love collecting coins and now my son does as well. Free shipping as always, unless I auction something really heavy :) I trying to get credits so I can find a Lot of Lego Mini Figures. I'm having surgery super soon and I'm hoping to keep my son busy and out of my hair :) I mean that in the nicest way possible. Thank you, please be Listia Verified. Nikki

It's not a silver dollar, that is a mistake which has been perpetuated over many years. It is simply a dollar coin.
And BTW frankp36, 1921 was not the last year for silver dollars...Peace dollars were minted in 90% silver until 1935, and some 1971-74 Ikes contain 40% silver.

Hi Nikki Just got 39 credits from Listia for checking back on this auction. Bidding too. My plan if I win is to submit it to PCGS for grading and then it would be a awesome valuable coin. Thanks for the great listing! Good Luck!

Oh and one last thing just like the previous comment said if you do decide tu update the name you cannot say that it is a silver dollar but does not contain silver because like he said the only people that call themselves are people that know nothing about coins at all.....thx...God bless... With all this being said in all of the comments being last it comes down to this it is a 10 dollar coins and that is pretty much what it is worth. Unless it was Ms 70.... Which means it is graded as an absolutely flawless and perfect coin.... it would only be worth about a buck..... But in the coin collecting world it's all about what someone is willing to pay for a coin. So if somebody needs this to fill their book they will definitely pay more than a person who does not need the coin.

Woozle.... You are correct about the Peace dollar I am very well versed in coins I don't know why I even stated that I don't know what I was thinking. As a matter of fact the 1935 Peace dollar in high grades is a very valuable coin. Also I am very well aware that the IKE dollar, for a few years was made with 40% silver in them only with s mint mark and they were made separate or in special mint sets only and not circulated. And to the woman hosting the auction your best bet in what to call this coin is what it is known as either of the IKE dollar or the Eisenhower dollar. Now if it were from a special mint set which this one is not it would contain silver so u could then call it a silver dollar. I hope this helps you have a great day. Thx

Hello Ms. Please do not take what I am going to say as rude or insulting I am just trying to be helpful and I dont want 2c you will lose credits for those Legos you're trying to get, lol. Which I sincerely hope that you can get four your son. Anyway, the fact of the matter is this coin is not at all silver as far as intrinsic value goes. The color might be silver but that's about it.... But by stating in your action title "silver dollar" when it does sell, someone could use that against you and claim ignorance in sayin that they thought they were buying a silver coin. I had seen it done before and it is unfortunate that not all people are honest and good. Please don't get me wrong, this is a cool and collectible coins which people like to fill their albums with and you should have no problem selling it. The last actual silver dollar they made was in 1921. I am just trying to be helpful, you might want to include and update just saying that there is no silver metal content in the coin itself that way you will be covering yourself from any and all foreseeable issues. It would be disappointing for me to hear that someone would give you a hard time over something like this. Sincerely, Frank. Thank you and God bless you and your family!

Thank you for the info. I'm aware of this but I'm not at all sure what to call it. I guess I could state that while it's called a silver dollar it's not silver?? Nikki
