It is not XL it is M, Reebok Men's 48 are Mediums the 56 is XL.

That's a question for the ages.....I buy, sell and trade Jerseys all the time and the most frustrating thing to me is the non-standardized way jerseys are sized. Like Reebok is right on size-wise, sometimes it wears a bit big, but only one size bigger. NIKE though, is SOOOOOO small that you have to go two sizes up. So a 48 in NIKE is a small for the average man, so if you are a Large wearer, then you need a 56 just to be able to breathe. This jersey is a Medium, which is the Reebok 48; but it would fit someone who wears a Large....if you wear an XL then I'd say no. Its not that big.

No biggie.....no son or husband yet. But because of the questions I've had on other auctions I have to cover all my bases. It is a 48, which is size code for men's wear, women know S, M, L, etc because that's how our clothing comes. So I put both in the listing so everyone understands what the sizes are.
