I live in Illinois, and I think this is a very cool auction. How heavy is this? And have you ever tried opening a letter with this? Was it easy?

I would say its about 1.5 lbs. I have never used it. I think it would because it has an edge. Looking at it. It could be sharped as a weapon.

When I bought it it did not have a case. I do not know how old it is either. I bought it at a antique store in southern Illinois. So no case.
