The listing, Used 1984 Duck Hunting Stamp has ended.

This is used 1983 to 1984 Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Migratory Waterfowl Stamp showing Pintails. It is still on my old hunting license from back then. It is in very good condition.

SnailMailGalPla this is NOT a postage stamp. It is a tax stamp, levied on hunters to support the protection of wildfowl habitat AND to reduce the free predation of migratory birds.
By charging for the right to shoot wildfowl, it is assumed that fewer (or only those people who don't have to worry about their money - like Dick Chaney) can hunt these birds for sport (when they are not shooting their friends in the face).

These people (who do not have any sense of what life is, at all, or what it takes to live) think killing things with a loud bang is fun. Yet they are the most loud voices for the "Pro-life Movement"?!? What's up with that? They are sick, stupid or hypocrites, at best. It is very, very, very sad

Apolitically, these appear to be the Northern Pintail (Anas acuta), although there are some six or more varieties. "Northern" meaning Europe. Asia, North America (and the most common).

Thank you to hyderconsulting and Whtefoote for that information. I have a stamp software program and was browsing through it when I came upona big section under "Hunting Permit" and there is a big list with photos of a bunch of duck stamps and I see the Scott # begins with the letters RW. I thought that was very interesting. So much more for me to learn! Thanks again!

Just so bidders understand, typically, Duck Hunting Revenue Stamps (Federal or State) are required to be signed on the stamp (itself) to cancel it when used for hunting, so that only the original purchaser can use it in that revenue year.
This was a wonderful) stamp to collect, because it is uncancelled, as auctioned!

P.S. This kind of stamp - why it exists and what it is for; who and what it serves: IS, by its very existence, political in nature.
Most stamps are, in fact.
They are issued by government agencies to tell their own story. That is why they are different in time and place, country by country.
That idea is usually worth exploring for those who have not thought about it, irrespective of my (or your) opinions on any particular one of them.
