Seeds collected from my plants, MATURE RIPENED TO RED pods.

Black Pearl is a hybrid. I have been able to grow it fairly true from seeds. Be aware that growing it from seed means it is no longer truly a "Black Pearl". It's STILL a beautiful plant.

Image 2 is a cutting from my own plant that was grown from seed. See the lovely ornamental contrast? Foliage seems to grow darker w/ more sun! Fruit can be eaten. They are small & hot! Information below is regarding the true "Black Pearl" chili.

New Ornamental Pepper Wins Prestigious Award
1 look at 'Black Pearl' & it is easy to see why it won this award. Compact, upright plants bear distinctive semi-glossy, deep purple to black leaves, complemented w/ scores of shiny round black-purple "pearls" of fruit that mature to bright red. 'Black Pearl' performs well as either a bedding or pot plant. It offers a vibrant accent to home gardens throughout the summer and fall seasons.

It performs exceptionally well in containers & deserves to be featured as the centerpiece.

We had a very mild winter. My plants overwintered OUTDOORS & are setting fruit again!

15 seeds I consider reasonable GIN offers. I accept paypal. Please feel free to ask questions in the comment section.

BEWARE ROSE SEEDS! There's GOOD reasons why rose seeds AREN'T sold in big garden centers. More info here; http://goo.gl/0UJZry

Beware of home collected seeds from hybrid plants. They're no longer the same variety. Ask questions. Research >reliable< sources. Learn to succeed in your gardening efforts!

Beware! GREEN bell peppers are UNRIPE bell peppers & isn't likely to provide VIABLE seeds. There are very few varieties that produce bell peppers that ripen to green. Same for GREEN Jalapeno & most other pepper varieties. It only take minutes to check the variety & discover the color of the RIPE pepper.

Apple seeds? Mercy! Don't get me started!

Do the fruits still turn black? what is the difference from the seed grown and "true" black pearl? also I was thinking that i would like seeds from your everglades tomato and goji berry plant. can you set up a lot with a get it now price for all 3 plants and would 2000 be enough for them?

Original
The fruits start green, turn to black and then ripen to red.

A true Black Pearl was specifically crossbreed (2 specifically selected parents) to create desirable traits. True Black pearl are F1 hybrids, meaning the first generation specifically breed for those traits. My plants were grown from the seeds of the original hybrid and are called F2. Sometimes generation F2 (or greater) will retain many of the desirable traits, but sometimes they will revert back to either of the plants in their parentage that were crossbred to create the hybrid to begin with.

My plants are very much like the original, but I can't in good conscience call them Black pearl because they are not the original hybrid and that is the only true black pearl.

Keep in mind that Listia takes a 10% cut of the GIN. Then please take a look at some of my auctions that have ended. I have only once gotten less than 4000 pts for Goji alone. The average for these is probably around 1700. About 2500 for the tomato. I could set up a GIN with the 3, yes, but it just wouldn't make sense for me to accept a 2000 pt offer.
