The listing, Mexican Papaya Fruit Seeds has ended.

YOU ARE BIDDING FOR 8 BEST QUALITY HEIRLOOM ORGANIC PAPAYA MELON SEEDS.

*I will e-mail a How to plant, grow, care, harvest, storage instructions for this delicious fruit*.

They are easy to grow (once you know how to!), they are quick to fruit and they fruit all year round.
Growing papaya from seed is the easiest and most successful way to get started. And of course it's also the cheapest. Papaya trees grow best in USDA growing zones 9 and 10. Even light freezes can completely kill a papaya tree so my guess is that most people below zone 7 or 8 probably don't have a chance at growing a papaya outside. Papayas also prefer to be grown in humid climates, but I have found that they will grow outside in Tucson with as little as 20% humidity.

Papaya fruit health benefits
The papaya fruit is very low in calories (just 39 calories/100 g) and contains no cholesterol; however, is a rich source of nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.

Papayas contain soft, easily digestible flesh with a good amount of soluble dietary fiber that helps to have normal bowel movements; thereby reducing constipation.

Fresh, ripe fruit is one of the fruits with the highest vitamin-C content (provides 61.8 mg or about 103% of DRI, more than that of in oranges, or lemons).

It is also an excellent source of Vitamin-A flavonoids. Vitamin A is required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin and is essential for visual sight. These compounds are known to have antioxidant properties to protect against cancer and ulcers.

I live in zone 4 and need to know if such a plant would fit indoors. How tall are the cultivars. If they aren't genetic dwarfs, can I keep my papaya plants smaller but just as healthy with pruning?

Growing papaya tree as a houseplant will give you a dramatic tropical accent for a sunny room. And, that's not all. You'll soon be enjoying the fruits of your labor. Even light freezes can completely kill a papaya tree so my guess is that most people below zone 7 or 8 probably don't have a chance. Thank you
