This could be a dumb question, but standard means it works all ipods right? I have an old short & fat square one (it's not a shuffle, but idk what it is, it was a gift lol) and I'm looking into getting an itouch so I wanna make sure it would work with at least one of them before I bid. Thanks! :)

Sorry for the late response; just saw this question. It should at least charge both of your mentioned iPods. Over time they change the pin layout, so I can't speak to the syncing ability. It's the original cable that came with a 5th generation 30gb iPod Video.
