Well let me rephrase that ..its dirty and the back is sealed shut I cant open it, it does wind and the hands to move when you set it. it is not running right now no
It Is a Men's>Circa 1940's. So the Watch Is Not Winding Now?>Everything Else U Mentioned is Cosmetic that I can Fix! But Only if It The Movement is Not Frozen Up {Mainspring Issue}.
When I turn the knob the hands move so I am assuming it probably functions. I have not tried to pry the back off for fear of damaging it. I hope that helps :)
I think I will try to win it. Hopefully, it is Not Frozen up>Once I Restore it, it would make a Beautiful Timepiece!>>One Last Request from you>I know that you stated that Crown Does turn and the Hands do Move. That's a Good Sign! If you "Push" the Stem in ALL the way and then Carefully "Turn the Crown" {Knob} in the Direction *AWAY* from you, it Should Turn, without moving the hands. you will be able to know For Sure if it runs or not by just watching it after you have done that. If you rather would not do it, I understand>But if it works you will know. It's up to you. Danny
AWESOME!!!!_Thanks for Taking that Risk!_Even Tough it Probably just Cost me Auction or MORE CREDITS, But that IS GOOD For U!_If I Do get Beat I Only Hope that They know HOW TO RESTORE Vintage Timepieces because of the Delicate Parts {There are Over 85 if Them}. It would be a Shame to Ruin it because of Someone Being Careless!_If I don't Win ask the New Owner to Contact me and I Will HELP THEM! Thanks again!
I know I couldn't believe it lol I don't know a lot about watches, we know enough to know value but not a lot of tech expertise in our antiquities forte haha we actually picked up some 14k hunter pocket watches the other day. Trying to appraises them. You know anything about that?
Without Pictures, It would make it nearly Impossible for me to "Appraise" them. There are So Many Detailed parts and other factors involved. Sorry Dan.
Well Dan, It looks like You are going to get more than your thought you might. Mr. "leecreighton" has really upped the Ante on me. I guess I should not have done all of the Homework as to its working condition for HIM. That is REAL GOOD for you, but Expensive for me or {For Him. Congrats}!!!
Not Your Fault. I just Saw the the Nice one that U Won just a Bit ago? The Proceeds from the this one will help you a lot Guess U Do Know more about Vintage Watches than I thought
Hope that someone DOES Beat my 75,001 now! {HINT}>Tried to "Retract" it back down, but I guess Listia is not Like eBay where you can "Retract" Some or All of the Bids you placed.
