But this isn't a Wii game, it's a 360 title. So I still don't know if it will work without the gear.

Sorry my bad. I thought you were asking about the Wii Rock Band. For the Xbox Rock Revolution I actually went online chat with Stiffany: her response was that posted at 8:23:34 on 7/28/2014 as: "As I check on the possible devices needed for this game it only needs or use controller "
