I had the same thing happen twice! The first time it was a black hills gold ring with a small diamond, just got a envelope with a hole in it-no ring. I got my credits back but it was such a loss for both me and the seller. The second time the ring got here, barely, it was hanging out and had been taped by the post office. I had to sign for and inspect it as damaged mail, so if it had been empty they would have made a note of it. The ring was in okay shape, but scratched and had a stone loose. Why people send things worth so much in a plain envelope is beyond me, it just don't make any sense to risk losing the item and the credits both over a $1 bubble mailer.

It makes me sooooo sad when people send sttuff in a regular envelope! The post office puts EVERYTHING trhough the sorting machine and with that little lump in it it's more likely to get caught! I guess if you're going to use a regular envelope, make sure it's padded so that it goies through the machine smoothly. It doesn't matter if you put "do not machine". I think some think that it's cheaper to send that way, but it has to do with the weight and a small padded packaging envelpe really doesn't weigh but an ounce. I've had a few things get messed up and/or ruined and hanging out. SAD

I won a small jewelry box with an etching on the glass top. You figure it out. Still everyone I move my recliner, I'm still sweeping up glass shards.

Nothing like receiving an empty envelope, happened to me also. So when i win a bid I try and suggest how to mail the item because of this!

At least pay the extra non machinable cost. Anything too rigid should be sent in a Padded envelope. Best of luck....
