After Harper Connelly was struck by lightning as a teenager, she developed an unusual ability--she is able to locate bodies and see how the victims died, although she cannot identify the murderers. To clear their names--the police consider Harper and Tolliver suspects in the crime--they set out to find the real killer. Harper and Tolliver are likable, well-developed characters whose unhappy past binds them together as they care for one another and work together. 9. Storm Born by Richelle Mead (Shaman, Shape-shifter, Demon, Fey)

Just typical. No love life to speak of for months, then all at once, every ***** creature in the Otherworld wants to get in your pants...

Eugenie Markham is a powerful shaman who does a brisk trade banishing spirits and fey who cross into the mortal world. Mercenary, yes, but a girl's got to eat. Her most recent case, however, is enough to ruin her appetite. Hired to find a teenager who has been taken to the Otherworld, Eugenie comes face to face with a startling prophecy--one that uncovers dark secrets about her past and claims that Eugenie's first-born will threaten the future of the world as she knows it.

Now Eugenie is a hot target for every ambitious demon and Otherworldy ne'er-do-well, and the ones who don't want to knock her up want her dead. Eugenie handles a Glock as smoothly as she wields a wand, but she needs some formidable allies for a job like this. She finds them in Dorian, a seductive fairy king with a taste for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous shape-shifter who redefines animal attraction. But with enemies growing bolder and time running out, Eugenie realizes that the greatest danger is yet to come, and it lies in the dark powers that are stirring to life within her...

Sizemore has long worn two writing hats, that of romance author and sf-fantasy scribe, and each is evident in her first effort to join both forces. yeah i discovered her a couple years ago when i was working at walmart. one day i was on lunch and was looking at the books and magazines for something to read and I walked by and the cover of the book caught my attention. I thought it was really cool so i picked it up and read the back of it and something told me I had to get it. So I did and fell in love with the characters and storyline. Plus I love that it's based in Savannah which was a plus b/c I've been there so I could picture it in my mind. I'm only missing "Pray for dawn" and "wait for dusk". I've already read them and they were brilliant.
