The Silk Heritage museum is one of four museums in Macclesfield dedicated to the history and development of silk manufacturing.

An award winning audio visual programme takes visitors through the history of the silk industry and looks at the importance of silk to the fashion industry.

The museum also looks at the origins of silk from China and its journey to the UK. The other museums are Paradise Mill which looks at the weaving process, Park Lane Galleries which houses exhibitions on machinery and worker's lives and West Park Museum which displays a range of fine and decorative art as well as artefacts relating to local history.
