Alrighty folks...it's time we have a chat. Lately there has been an on slaught of fake turquoise here and on other sites.

Most I have seen has been dyed Howlite. Howlite has spider like veins that have a pattern similar to turquoise. It you suspect that howlite turquoise is being sold as the real McCoy, study the matrix. If the lines are grey (or dyed brown) and thin , there is a good chance you might be holding dyed howlite.

Like the lovely earrings above...It is not bad looking, but, it's not real Turquoise. :-)

These are lovely turquoised color howlite earrings with black and purple feathers and rhinestone accent beads. Uber cute!

FYI I am 1/4 Delaware and Cheroke Indian......I have some real turquoise I may be getting ready to list....I love American Indian things also and during my first marriage my first husband went crazy in that area for gifts for me.

I had some turquoise earrings up for an auction but I wasn't sure if they were real or not. They looked similar to the one you have listed. But I love these and will be watching. :)

Yeah..sadly I have won sevral auction from here, eBay and others that are not real...but if you like Turquoise like me, you don't really mind if they aren't real, but I won't bid as high on Howlite as I do real turquise, so I'm a bit miffed if I spend 2K on a fake turquoise ring...lol.
