This Kindle has been deregistered but can be registered at Amazon.com(sign in using your email address and password associated with your Amazon.com account or contacting Kindle customer service at 1-8663218851 or 1-2062660927.) The bottom right roller is used to go to various screen positions in the menu, so you can register. The two switches in the rear of the Kindle must be on(one is for turning on the Kindle and the other is to connect to the store) in order to contact Amazon's customer service and book, magazine and newspaper store(no internet or cell charges are necessary as Amazon has already paid for the cell connection for the lifetime of the Kindle. Of course you must pay for any Newspapers, Magazines, or books you purchase in the Kindle store and have downloaded(using your kindle account)......The Kindle's model number is D00111, the included battery does hold a charge for a short period of time so I would recommend you purchase a new generic at Amazon or E-Bay for less then $20.00. You can also use the included AC/DC transformer even if the battery is low(which I would recommend anyway when you connect to Amazon via local cell tower, as just using the battery power seems to use more energy and cuts down on usage before having to recharge. The included battery's model number is A00100, 3.7v, 1530 mah Lithium. You will also notice in one of the pictures, that if you feel you are going to need more memory for newspapers, books, magazines you can add a Sandisk SD Card with 2GB of memory(not included).
