SO VIVIDLY'Colorful and B&W pictures on every page as well as "must have information" on the developement of sheet music lithography from the beginning at Early American Music right on til the 1950s, Includes Wars,Autos, Black people, Minstrels, Movies and whatever!!!!!, and the gorgeous color litho covers!!! OMG! People wanted to seem fashionable and artsy and probably were not so fussy for the actual sheet music within the cover as they were the outstanding art covers themselves. Framed by the front of their upright in the parlor or music room. they were as brilliant as any decorated picture on the wall--or better! And we are happy for that--Collectors mostly want the variety of cover subjects, Even Norm Rockwell, Flagg,Petty and Vargas did music covers! Musical types always intrigue the ragtimer musicians seacring for an obscure composition they don't already have published in some backwater town,( 1898-1920s) and the Jazz fan too-- 1919-1930s--and if the covers are great that is a bonus\-++ Sheet music by the tons is available at eBay, and occasionally a gem is surfacing here at Listia too. Sheet music has become a MAJOR COLLECTIBLE!!! Get on the bandwagon!! Postage for this hardbound book is $3.00
