Thanks for your explanation. No, this knife is not spring based, it does not snap with force, you have to gently open it (and you are in complete control over the distance the knife travels during the opening). So it is right to state that the knife maybe safe with respect to this feature.

Shaun this knife can be just as fast as a assisted oping knife and is legal to carry you can loosing the screw just a little bit and the knife flys open with a flick of your wrist it fit comfortably between your forefinger and thumb just a excellent pocket knife here I am talking all about it and I plan on bidding on it bad me but it is a nice one.
