I have plenty of reasons for having a 18+ policy, besides the fact that it is listia's rule. All of the issues that are listed in my "rules" bullet points and scams and head aches have been from having to deal with children, and or children making bogus profiles. You are still newish here and are not a big seller, so most of these issues you have not run into yet. Also with most scams/fake auctions on here especially in the video game listings are from children. This is a business auction site, meaning when you bid/win/sell there is a "contract" that is made between the two parties. Children under the age of 18 years of age can not sign contracts or conduct business transactions. Just like how a 14 year old can not get a lean for a house or sign for a loan, same principles apply here.

Hopefully as listia grows they will improve their membership signing system so that it is harder for children to have accounts.

Doesn't matter if you agree with it or not, that is what the rules are. This isn't itunes my dear this is a auction site. Money is always involved as well, everything on here has a tangible currency value attached to it, and money can be exchanged for credits (where the 18+ issue comes in) nothing is "free" credits are just another form of currency, if one doesn't have enough coin to win a item they do not get the item. Also last time I checked USPS, FEDEX, UPS any shipping carrier still only accepts United states FED issued bank notes only a.k.a money. Money is always being exchanged. No, once again a child can not sign a legally law abiding contract without a adult's consent and or present, pick up a blacks law dictionary and study contract law, I will not argue with you about this.
Guess what I do not think that it is fair that a seventeen year old can not buy a bottle of alcohol but can join the military and kill another human being, that those are the current rules and or laws in place. That is just life sometimes. Yes it may not be fair but it is what it is.

Never said that every child is a "idiot", I said that nearly every single issue that I have had after a auction has ended has been a result of a child bidder. The people who have the most issues with these standards have been children who want to bid on the item, or new users that haven't been around the block yet. Senior members and seasons sellers understand and have no complaints about these standards.

I tell you what, come back to me after you list and complete a few hundred listings, I will like to see if your views are still the same.

Sigh...you just do not get it. and of course conveniently ignored most of my statements and or didn't even address them directly. My standards and rules are not going to change, and children will be blocked if caught bidding on my auctions. End of story. Have a good day.
