Does this use a co2 cartridge to freeze or how does this work?

Hi, No it does not use co2. It is a soft cup (silicone) 2 layers with a salt water solution in between the silicone layers. You put the empty cup in the freezer to freeze the saltwater than you poor your drink in the cup and it turns the liquid into a slushy instantly. I just keep mine in the freezer so it is ready when I want a slushy. It works great. It does not work well with diet or sugar free drinks.
