Here is one of those items that you CAN live without...but WHY??? It is Easy to use, leaves the lid with SMOOTH Edges...not sharp, and it is easy to glide on the can. Have you EVER cut yourself on the sharp lid you just took off a can? Well, I have too. This neat tool won't allow that to happen. It makes it much safer if you have children in the home, too. A friend of mine was opening a can with a regular can opener and accidentally dropped the lid. Her toddler grabbed that lid off the floor and started running with it. Thank goodness my friend was able to safely get that lid away from her son, but he could have cut himself very badly in a very small amount of time. That's why this opener is especially valuable. It is powered by 2 AA batteries (not included) and it cuts the top of the can off around the outside edge...not just the lid. After seeing what could have happened to that precious child, I wanted to make this one available to others. I don't have small children in my home any more, but this is the only way I open my cans. Another nice feature is...have you ever dropped the can you just opened with the under the counter opener? WHAT A MESS. With this opener, the can sits on your counter. If you drop the can after using this opener, well Murphy's law just came into play and there is not much you can do when Murphy shows up, now is there? I wish these had been around with my kids were kids. One less thing to fret about, and parents can usually use one less thing to worry over.
