Description

The listing, 4 1/2 Cent 1959 First Day Cover has ended.

This 1959 First Day Cover features a 4 1/2 cent block of four stamps honoring Andrew Jackson's home, The Heritage. The post office in 1959 had the first day of issue for this stamp in Denver CO. Not exactly a smart choice since The Heritage is in Tennessee and Colorado was not even on the map when Andrew Jackson was President! A great collectors item from a time when post office issued stamps in 1/2 cent denominations which must have made it difficult for people who wanted to buy only one stamp! Please enlarge to see the FDC the winner will be receiving along with a free bonus FDC.

Having FDC post office for the Jackson home in Tennessee in Denver is not quite as bad as when the post office had to destroy thousands of stamps showing the Grand Canyon and labeled as being in Colorado instead of Arizona!
