The listing, 1890'S CLOISONNE HINGED BRACELET has ended.
Hello everyone, I have here for you all an original 1890's
Cloisonné bracelet that was given to my great-grandmother as an engagement gift for my great-grandfather. It originated in Montreal Canada in the China Town Jewelry section. My grandparents barely survived the Influenza Epidemic that took my great grand-fathers first fiancé and many through out Montreal. When they married they decided to come to the US through Vermont and settled there and raised 13 children on a farm. He went from an Accountant for St. Catharine's
Church in Montreal to a Farmer in Vermont. Some say
it was either to get out of the diseased city or to forget his true love and the death of his first fiancé. Anyway, back to the bracelet, this hinged bracelet has a white enamel background with silver for the division walls for the poured colored enamel design. The clasp is silver and very sturdy. Remember folks, no one had to mark anything until 1893 when the fair trade laws started to be passed. As this is not marked and does test for authentic silver, it narrows the date of making to before the year 1893. Will fit 7 inch wrist or less. Thank you for looking!
