FREE: $5000 Expropiacion Petrolepa 1938 - 1988

Seeing this coin on listia I had to research it to figure out just it was. Since I don't have anywhere near the credits I thought I would provide some background to hopefully help future owners. This is indeed a coin from Mexico (km531 5000 Pesos (1988) ) It commemorates the nationalization of the oil Industry in 1938. This nationalization was done in response to the plight of the oil workers but "caused an international boycott of Mexican products in the following years, especially by the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands."
