Looks to be like about 7 empty spots where marcasites are not present? Or maybe it's the camera angle, but just thought I would check. :)

not that I know, why does it look to be? I have had this in my jewelry box for several years when I replaced it with the cross I now wear from AVON.

Maybe it's just because it's not real. I don't see any stones. Don't recall it having any either. Just grooves cut to look like stones.
