These are Antique ceremonial bells or sarna bells from india. They would have been carried by people parading during celebrations and some would be strung together and worn by elephants in the parade. One is topped with the sacred elephant and the other is etched with a pretty flower design and both are masterfully hand etched each with a different design.
They are solid brass each is just a little over 4 inches high and 3 inches wide at its widest point, see pictures for exact measurements. They sound amazing!
Both are in excellent condition given the age. I would guestimate them to be from 1920's or earlier. These were given to me years ago by a friend from her grandfathers estate. I was told he was in the military and picked these up abroad in India.
They are absolutely beautiful, I have not tried to clean them up as i dont want to take away the beauty they show from age. I will leave it up to the winner.They are true relics!!
