They look as though they are intended to work, but I don't know for sure. I've never turned it on to see.

I would assume they don't work. Down along the bottoms of the watch, you'll see "Japan Movt", meaning Tungus watch runs on a battery. One single battery. Not enough juice to power four watch faces/functions.
