These seeds are easily grown from seed, and can be planted out doors where you want them to grow This beautiful bloomer sends blooms all season long..the blooms are short-lived but are replaced by the fruit, which is on the outer crispy fruity layer of the calyxes.

September/November, when seeds are brown in the calyxes it's usually ready for harvest. The calyxes will each develop about 25+ seeds. With even a few plants you will be rich in seed!

The fruity petals have variety of culinary uses. Most notably, are for their use in making Jamaica tea, Although jams, sauces, and eating cold in salads, are are a number of ways red zinger is enjoyed.

Zinger's rich dark green foliage and bright red fruits, make it a very ornamental plant. Can be grown indoors/outdoors, but it can grow about 3-4' tall. I grow mine in cluster circles, so they almost take on the appearance of a tropical shrub.

Grows well in zone 9, and is hardy to high temps..I think it will do well in most zones. Super fast grower!
