Description

The listing, Redbud Tree Seed Pods - Grow Your Own! Wild, Ornamental, or Bonsai - Eastern Cercis Canadensis has ended.

Save the bees! Plant and grow your own eastern redbud trees to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, cardinals, finches and more.

Winner will receive at least 6 pods. Each pod contains about 4 to 8 seeds. (I'll make sure you receive AT LEAST 20 SEEDS!) ...GIN = 12 pods.

Redbuds (Cercis canadensis) add a beautiful pop of color to the landscape with little pink flowers in the spring, followed by pretty heart-shaped leaves throughout the summer.

Very hardy, very easy to grow and maintain across a wide range of conditions. Let them run wild or keep them pruned for ornamental use in the garden... I've heard they make nice bonsai trees, too!

The pods pictured in the photos above represent the condition of the actual pods you will receive. I've recently collected these from our trees, which have now started to bud. They've wintered outdoors. The pods are dry and easy to split.

I'd recommend scarifying or giving the seeds a quick boiling treatment before planting... for more info on growing redbud trees from seeds, here's a helpful article: http://www.freeplants.com/redbud-trees.html

I live in southern Michigan and they seem to grow like weeds in my yard, lol. I would assume Ohio may be similar.
